1. Stronger, Faster, Safer

The Power of Premium Urethane

Not all adhesives are created equal. Our Sika polyurethane delivers an industry-leading 1,100 psi of tensile strength — that’s strong enough to hold seven full-grown adults on a single square inch of adhesive. This isn’t just for show; this strength ensures your windshield stays in place during a collision and allows airbags to deploy correctly when you need them most.

Key Benefits of Our Sika Urethane Adhesive:

  • AGRSS-recommended and industry tested
  • ✅ Designed for maximum bond strength
  • 30-minute *safe drive-away time – get back on the road faster
  • ✅ Formulated for Canadian climate conditions

Using lower-quality auto glass adhesives with longer cure times may cost less — but they also put your safety at risk. We don’t cut corners. Ever.

*Safe Drive-Away Time (SDAT) is also known as Minimum Drive-Away Time (MDAT) and indicates how long a urethane seal should be allowed to cure before the car is driven. For example, to achieve a safe drive-away time of 30 minutes, a vehicle is crashed into a wall after that time to ensure the seal remains intact.

2. Rust Doesn’t Stand a Chance

Our Protective Primer System

Before any new glass is installed, we prep your vehicle’s pinch weld — the part of the frame where the windshield bonds to the body. This area is highly prone to rust if it’s not treated properly. That’s why we apply a rust-inhibiting primer as part of every installation.

This paint primer does two important things:

  • Prevents corrosion from starting (or spreading)
  • Boosts adhesion between the metal and urethane for a longer-lasting seal

Without this step, future windshield replacements could be compromised by rusted surfaces. With it, you get peace of mind and added protection built right into your install.

It is important to note however that primer can’t completely stop rust that has already begun developing. If you’ve had your windshield replaced somewhere else, or if the frame has been chipped away by rocks, and rust has begun to grow, primer alone will only mildly slow its growth. Body work is required to remove or fix significant rust.

3. Glass Activators

The Secret to a Leak-Free Bond

Even the highest-quality adhesive won’t stick well to dirty or untreated glass. That’s where Sika Activator comes in. We carefully prepare each windshield using a specialized primer or activator that bonds with the glass surface before urethane is applied.

Failing to use an activator can result in:

  • Water leaks
  • Wind noise
  • In worst cases — a windshield that can detach in a crash

We don’t leave that up to chance. This step ensures your glass is bonded correctly the first time, and built to last in every kind of Alberta weather.
