What Windshields Have to Do with Traffic Sign Recognition

Because the TSR camera is typically part of a vehicle’s ADAS safety camera which is bonded to the interior of the windshield, any glass replacement or even a rock chip directly in the camera’s field of view can compromise the system. After a windshield replacement, the camera must be precisely realigned physically and digitally—sometimes to within fractions of a millimeter—to ensure safety system functionality.
